PHOENIX, AZ – The Arizona Department of Public Safety suspects impairment played a part in a wrong-way crash that happened near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport Wednesday.
According to AZ Family, the crash unfolded when a driver was traveling south on Route 143, drifted out of their lane, and crashed head-on into a northbound vehicle. Troopers and crews responded to the scene after 8:30 p.m. and closed northbound State Route 143.
Troopers detained the alleged impaired driver and said he sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
