News: 30-year-old female pedestrian hit, killed in Phoenix crash

PHOENIX, AZ – A 30-year-old female pedestrian was struck and killed by a pickup truck near the intersection of 51st Ave. and Encanto Blvd. on Wednesday morning.

A pickup truck was traveling south on 51st Ave. when it swerved to miss slowed traffic due to a disabled vehicle, according to 12NEWS. The pickup struck another truck that was traveling north on 51st Ave. causing the pickup to swerve to the right and hit the pedestrian.

Alberta Lavetta Cons was transported to a local hospital where she died from her injuries.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing. Police report impairment is not a factor in the cause of the accident.

Neither driver was injured in the crash.
