News: 1 killed, another hospitalized after multi-vehicle collision in North Phoenix

NORTH PHOENIX, AZ – One person was killed, and another was sent to the hospital following a multi-vehicle collision on Sunday, ArizonaFamily said.

The incident happened after 5:30 a.m. at Bell Road and 12th Street. Eyewitnesses told Phoenix Police that a driver of a car was turning onto 12th Street when they collided with the motorcyclist, who was reportedly speeding on Bell Road.

The impact of the initial collision caused the car to crash into another vehicle.

EMS crews transported the motorcyclist and the driver of the car to a hospital. There, the motorcyclist died, while the motorist was treated for unspecified injuries.

During the investigation, an alleged impaired driver crashed into a patrol vehicle as that officer was redirecting traffic.

Officials closed the area and have since reopened it.
