News: Woman, 77, loses life to a pedestrian collision in Moon Valley 

PHOENIX, AZ – A 77-year-old woman lost her life to a pedestrian collision that happened in the Moon Valley neighborhood Thursday, AZ Family reports.  

Preliminary details reveal that the 77-year-old woman was walking outside a crosswalk while attempting to cross the intersection of 7th Street and Thunderbird Road. While walking, she was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The female pedestrian was left in critical condition and transported to a hospital, where she later died. 

Phoenix police have since identified the pedestrian as Barbara Greenwell. 

The driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, police said. 

Officers shut down Thunderbird Road for several hours and have since reopened it.
