NORTHWEST PHOENIX, AZ – A driver, who allegedly ran a red light, was responsible for causing a crash that led to their death and injured a police officer Thursday.
According to 12News, the fatal crash occurred after the suspected red-light runner drove through the intersection of East Pinnacle Peak Road and North Cave Creek Road and crashed into a Phoenix police cruiser.
EMS crews rushed the suspected red-light runner and police officer to a nearby hospital. There, the alleged red-light runner succumbed to their injuries while the officer was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police shut down the intersection for the clean-up process and investigation.
