News: Pinal Co. crash caused by DUI driver kills 1

MARICOPA, AZ – A 21-year-old woman died Sunday evening in a three-vehicle collision caused by an alleged DUI driver in the Ak-Chin Indian Community, reports Arizona’s Family 3 TV.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Ralston Road and Fanner Drive.

Police say that the southbound driver of a Chrysler 300 rear-ended a Ford F-150 on Ralston Road. The force of the collision pushed the pickup truck onto the northbound side of the road where it hit a Dodge Ram.

During the accident, the driver of the Ford was ejected from her vehicle. Authorities pronounced her deceased at the scene.

Emergency crews also rescued a man who became entrapped in his vehicle as a result of the collision. They say the man suffered a head injury.

The 19-year-old driver of the Chrysler confessed to police that she was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
