News: 3 hospitalized after trucks strike police car in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – Two police officers and one other person went to the hospital after two trucks collided with a Phoenix Police cruiser on Friday afternoon, reports Arizona’s Family 3TV.

The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Thomas Road and 51st Avenue, which is just north of I-10.

The investigation indicates that two speeding pickup trucks crashed into the police car. Police have not shared any other details about how the crash happened.

A driver from one of the pickup trucks suffered non-critical injuries. Two police officers who were in the cruiser at the time of the crash also sustained injuries.

Police detained another driver at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
