News: Man killed in collision involving fire truck in NW Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – A man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a collision with a fire truck in northwest Phoenix, CBS 5 reports.

The crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. when 57-year-old William Dodd attempted to pass the fire truck near 35th Avenue and Camelback Road.

Dodd’s vehicle struck the rear of the fire truck and skidded out of control into a tree nearby. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died a short time later.

No firefighters were injured in the wreck.
