News: Hit-and-run crash in Mesa kills pedestrian

MESA, AZ – Troopers with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office are searching for the driver responsible for fatally striking a pedestrian in the Mesa area early Saturday.

According to Fox 10 Phoenix, the victim was hit by a westbound vehicle near the intersection of University Drive and 54th Street at about 1 a.m.

The unidentified pedestrian was pronounced dead at the crash site. It is unclear if they were in a designated crosswalk when the incident took place.

The driver involved fled the scene before officers arrived. No arrests have been made at the time of this writing.

The vehicle invalid is said to be black in color with damages to the front passenger side.
