News: Hit-and-run driver collides with officer in Glendale

GLENDALE, ARIZONA – A hit-and-run driver caused a crash involving a police officer at a busy intersection in Glendale early Wednesday morning, reports Fox 10 Phoenix.

Police say the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of North 75th Avenue and West Glendale Avenue.

The investigation indicates that a vehicle turned left in front of a police officer near the intersection, causing the officer to crash. The driver then fled the scene.

Authorities located and arrested the driver for fleeing the scene of an accident. Officials suspect impairment, in which case the driver could also face charges of driving under the influence.

A full investigation is underway.
