PHOENIX, AZ – A male pedestrian died after a vehicle struck him along a busy roadway in east Phoenix on Thursday night, reports abc15 Arizona.
Police say the incident happened Thursday night near the intersection of Washington Street and East 44th Street, which is just northeast of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
A preliminary investigation suggests that a small passenger car struck the pedestrian as he entered the roadway outside of a designated crosswalk. The vehicle fled the scene.
Medics transported the pedestrian to a local hospital, where he died from injuries sustained in the accident.
Authorities have not yet released a description of the vehicle. A full investigation is underway.
