News: Driver of stolen car fatally collides with another vehicle in Glendale

GLENDALE, AZ – One person is dead after the driver of a stolen car hit another vehicle near N 67th Ave and W Olive Ave on Wednesday, according to 12 News.

A man in his 20s was driving a stolen black 2014 Honda Civic with a woman in her 20s as a passenger. He was heading north on N 67th Ave at high speeds without his headlights as a 49-year-old grandmother was driving a 2013 Toyota Highlander west on Olive  Ave with her 12-year-old and 6-year-old grandchildren.

The grandmother tried to turn left onto N 67th Ave SB and did not see the Civic. The Civic driver swerved to avoid hitting the Highlander but struck the front of it around 7:30 p.m.

First responders transported the Civic driver to a local hospital, where he died. Crews also took the grandmother and her grandchildren to the hospital. Their current conditions are unknown.

Authorities discovered handguns, among other stolen property, in the Civic.
