AVONDALE, AZ – A 12-year-old boy lost his life to a vehicle-pedestrian crash that happened in the Del Rio Ranch neighborhood last Friday, April 17, ABC15 reports.
The 12-year-old boy was walking in the area of El Mirage and Lower Buckeye Roads when he was struck by a vehicle.
The boy died from his injuries at the scene.
Police have not specified whether the boy was using a marked crosswalk when he was hit.
Avondale Police confirmed the driver stayed at the scene and does not believe they were under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the collision.
Police have not cited or arrested the driver.
A full investigation is underway.
