WEST PHOENIX, AZ – Phoenix Police arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a toddler in West Phoenix on Sunday.
Arizona Family said the incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the area of West Buckeye Road & South 31st Avenue, south of Jack L. Kuban School. Police determined that a toddler wandered out into the driveway when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 35-year-old man.
The 35-year-old man, later identified as Carlos Rojas Mora.
Mora pulled over, went into a different vehicle, and fled the scene.
EMS crews hurried to the scene and rushed the toddler to a hospital, where he later died.
Police later found Mora and booked him on charges of hit-and-run that resulted in death.
