MAYER, AZ – Alcohol was suspected in a deadly pickup truck crash that happened on Antelope Creek Road in Mayer on Friday, ABC15 reports.
The pickup truck crash occurred after 5:30 p.m. The driver, a 38-year-old woman, reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.236 (over three times the legal limit) while operating the pickup truck. She seemed to lose control of her vehicle, and her pickup truck ended up rolling over several times before crashing into the Big Bug Wash.
The force of the collision led the driver’s passenger, also a woman, to die from her injuries. Mayer Fire/EMS and medical helicopter personnel were called to the scene and transported the female driver to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office started an investigation and has not confirmed whether the driver was arrested, nor have they reported any pending charges at this time.
