GLENDALE, AZ – One person was killed, and two others were sent to the hospital following a chain-reaction crash that involved a box truck on Monday.
The collision took place before 2:30 p.m. in the area of 67th Avenue and Utopia Road, according to Fox10Phoenix. The incident unfolded when an elderly woman conducted an unsafe lane change. Her vehicle then sideswiped a second vehicle, and the second vehicle then struck a larger box truck.
The driver of the box truck lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a fourth and fifth vehicle in the opposite lanes of traffic.
One of the car drivers, an unidentified man, died from his injuries at the scene. Two other drivers were taken to area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
