News: Wrong way driver fatally collides with another vehicle on US 60 in Apache Junction

APACHE JUNCTION, AZ – A wrong-way driver fatally struck another vehicle on US 60 near S Gold Field Rd on Saturday, according to 12 News.

Adam Parker was driving a blue pickup truck the wrong way on US 60 when he collided with an SUV driven by 28-year-old Elizabeth McAloon around 9:30 p.m.

Rescue crews transported McAloon and her 7-year-old daughter to an area hospital with serious injuries, where McAloon died. The 7-year-old remains in the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities charged Parker with second-degree murder, aggravated assault, child abuse, and circumstance to cause death or serious injury.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident.
