News: Driver strikes girl riding bicycle in downtown Gilbert

GILBERT, AZ – A driver collided with a 7-year-old girl riding a bicycle near Lindsay Rd and Elliot Rd on Jan. 15, according to CBS 5.

The girl and her family were riding their bicycles on their way home from getting lunch when a driver ran a red light and hit the girl around 1:15 p.m.

Rescue crews transported the girl to an area hospital with a broken femur and facial injuries.

Following the collision, the driver remained at the scene. He does not have insurance.

Authorities have not charged the driver.
