News: Wrong-way crash on SR-51 in Phoenix causes injuries

PHOENIX, AZ – At least two people were hospitalized Tuesday when a southbound vehicle hit another car on the northbound side of the highway, reports Arizona’s Family 3TV.

The incident happened around 2 a.m. on SR-51 near McDowell Road, which is just south of Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

Police say a southbound vehicle entered the northbound side of SR-51 and crashed into another vehicle. At least two people were injured,

Officials closed the northbound lanes of SR-51 in the vicinity of the crash while crews worked to investigate and clear the scene.

Authorities have not yet released information about the cause of the accident, but a full investigation is underway.
