News: Woman, unborn baby dead after Phoenix crash caused by alleged red light runner 

PHOENIX, AZ – A woman and her unborn baby died as a result of a crash caused by an alleged red light runner on Saturday, Fox10Phoenix said.

The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. off Loop 101 and 19th Avenue. A man driving a car had reportedly run a red light and crashed into another vehicle, leaving his female passenger in critical condition.

The aforementioned male driver and his female passenger, who was pregnant, were rushed to the hospital. The female passenger, identified as 19-year-old Leila Kiani Potts, was left in critical condition and had her baby delivered. Unfortunately, she and her child died from their injuries.

The male driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, while the second driver was uninjured.

Police confirmed the second driver remained at the scene and did not exhibit signs of impairment.
