News: Woman injured in Phoenix when vehicle crashes into flood channel

PHOENIX, AZ – A woman was injured after her SUV crashed into a flood channel near the intersection of N. 17th Ave. and Hatcher Rd. early Wednesday morning.

An SUV crashed through a rod iron fence, traveled down several feet, and landed in the flood channel, according to local reporting.

Local authorities initially found the SUV abandoned but a citizen reported an injured woman was climbing out of the canal earlier. She was transported to a local hospital for unknown injuries.

It is unclear if anyone else was involved or injured in the crash.

The cause of the accident is unknown.
