News: Woman critically hurt in Memorial Day scooter-vehicle crash in Phoenix 

PHOENIX, AZ – A woman was left in critical condition as a result of a scooter-vehicle crash that happened on Memorial Day, 12News reports. 

On Monday, the woman was riding a scooter when she was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of North 40th Street and Washington Street. 

Police and EMS crews pulled up to the scene after 5:40 p.m. Ambulance officials rushed the scooter rider to a hospital for treatment. 

Police confirmed the driver remained at the scene and does not suspect they were under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash. 

A full investigation is underway.
