WEST PHOENIX, AZ – A 59-year-old man was killed in an SUV crash that occurred on Thomas Road near I-17 and Black Canyon Highway on Monday.
Phoenix police identified the 59-year-old man as Lee Arthur Culver, according to new information from KTAR.
Preliminary details from the police’s Vehicular Crimes Unit reveal that Culver lost control of his car, crashed into a median, and a pole. The impact of the crash entrapped Culver, requiring extrication by fire crews.
Firefighters were able to extricate Culver and confirmed that he died from his injuries at the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
