News: Single-car crash kills 1 near downtown Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – A 26-year-old woman died overnight after her vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier along the interstate near downtown Phoenix, reports Arizona’s Family 3TV.

Police say the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Thursday morning near the I-10 off ramp to North 16th Street.

The investigation indicates that the woman failed to stop at a red light after exiting I-10 via the off ramp, at which point she collided with a barrier on the overpass.

Medics transported the victim to a local hospital, where she died of her injuries. Authorities identified the woman as Vanessa Garcia Degante.

A full investigation regarding the cause of the crash is underway.
