News: Single-car crash kills 1, hurts 2 in downtown Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – One person died, and two people went to the hospital after a vehicle crashed along the interstate in central Phoenix on Sunday, reports 12News.

Police say the incident happened late at night on the eastbound side of I-10 at the off ramp for North 7th Street, which is just east of the Phoenix Center for the Arts.

It’s unclear how the crash happened, but officials say two adults were thrown from the vehicle after it overturned in the roadway.

Medics transported the two adults and a child passenger to an area hospital. One of the people died after transport. Officials have not released their identity.

A full investigation of the accident is underway.
