MESA, AZ – Medics transported ten people to the hospital Sunday after a fiery five-car collision near a busy intersection in Mesa, reports Fox 10 Phoenix.
Police say the incident happened in the morning near the intersection of US-60 and Gilbert Road, which is just southeast of Emerald Park.
Authorities have not yet explained how the crash happened but have shared that some of the vehicles caught fire, at which point several occupants had to be extricated by emergency response crews.
Several people sustained serious injuries in the accident.
Officials are conducting a full investigation of the wreck.
