PHOENIX, AZ – An early morning crash in east Phoenix closed the westbound side of the freeway for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene, reports Arizona’s Family 3TV.
The incident happened around 5:45 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Loop 202 near AZ-143, which is also known as the Hohokam Expressway.
It’s unclear at this time how the collision happened and how many vehicles were involved. Officials with the Department of Transportation announced the closure of westbound Loop 202 between East Van Buren Street and AZ-143. The roads re-opened approximately three hours after the crash.
