News: Goodyear motorcyclist hit, killed in alleged DUI crash

GOODYEAR, AZ – A 19-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday after he was struck by an alleged DUI driver at a busy intersection in central Maricopa County, reports 12News.

Police say the incident happened sometime before 3:20 a.m. near the intersection of Interstate 10, or Papago Freeway, and Pebble Creek Parkway.

The preliminary investigation suggests that 40-year-old Christopher Clark hit the motorcyclist after running a red light.

The motorcyclist, identified as Carson Smith, died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Authorities arrested Clark on charges of DUI, reckless driving, and manslaughter.
