MARICOPA, AZ – A motorcyclist ran a red light, which led to a fatal collision involving a Tesla sedan on Halloween Day, AZ Family reports.
The crash occurred around 7 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Smith-Enke Road and Porter Road. Preliminary details show that a 19-year-old man, operating a Yamaha motorcycle, was going east on Smith-Enke Road when he ran a red light and crashed into the Tesla.
The force of the collision caused the motorcyclist to be ejected from his bike. Ambulance crews rushed him to a hospital, where he later died.
The motorcyclist has since been identified as Demetry Quiruz from Maricopa.
Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Unit does not suspect the Tesla driver was impaired.
