PHOENIX, AZ – According to AZFamily, the Phoenix Police Department is investigating a deadly head-on collision that occurred near W McDowell Rd and N 57th Ave on Wednesday.
Eric Allen, 37, was driving a red Honda Fit west on W McDowell Rd when he strayed into the eastbound lanes and hit a black taxi cab operated by Indalecio Lara, 51, around 10:30 a.m.
Rescue crews transported Allen and Lara to an area hospital, where they died. A woman from the Honda suffered life-threatening injuries.
Crews closed McDowell Rd to process the scene. The area was reopened around 3 p.m.
