News: Pedestrian hit, killed by vehicle in central Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – A 30-year-old male pedestrian died early Sunday morning when a vehicle struck him at a Phoenix intersection, reports abc15 Phoenix.

Police say the incident happened just before 3 a.m. near the intersection of East Osborn Road and North 16th Street.

The investigation suggests that a white SUV struck the pedestrian, who died at the scene. Authorities identified the victim as Agwani Samad,

Medics extricated the driver of the SUV from his vehicle and transported him to a local hospital with non-critical injuries.

Authorities suspect that the driver may have been impaired. A full investigation is underway.
