PHOENIX, AZ – A 6-year-old girl died and a 4-year-old girl was hospitalized after a hit-and-run collision that occurred on I-10 West near 75th Avenue on Sunday.
KTAR said the crash happened after a pickup truck driver crashed into a car with five occupants. The driver of the car lost control of their vehicle and then crashed into a concrete median wall.
The pickup truck driver, later identified as 22-year-old Turatsinze Gadi from Avondale, fled the scene and was later found at a gas station. Police arrested Gadi and booked him into jail.
As of this writing, Gadi faces these felony charges: endangerment, aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an injury collision, and counts of second-degree murder.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety is continuing the investigation.
