PHOENIX, AZ – A pedestrian lost their life after being hit by a vehicle on Interstate 10 near 79th Avenue on Thursday.
According to 12News, the crash happened around 10:45 p.m. The Arizona Department of Transportation said the pedestrian, who was walking with a bicycle, was walking perpendicular across the freeway when they were struck by a passenger vehicle.
The pedestrian unfortunately died from their injuries. DPS confirmed impairment was not a contributing factor behind the collision.
Authorities temporarily redirected traffic before reopening the area.
