News: Officials ID victims of fatal Chandler crash

CHANDLER, AZ – According to CBS 5, officials have released the names of the two victims who died following a collision at Hunt Hwy and McQueen Rd on Jan. 18.

Raymond Sampaga, 47, was driving west on Hunt Hwy when he strayed into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with an SUV driven by Taylor Stithem, 33, around 10:15 p.m.

Rescue crews pronounced Stithem and his passenger, Sara Paplia, 36, dead at the scene. They transported Sampaga to an area hospital in critical condition.

Authorities believe Sampaga may have experienced a medical event prior to the incident.
