News: Officer hurt in hit-and-run crash near North East Village

PHOENIX, AZ – According to AZ Family, an officer was hurt after a hit-and-run officer collided with their vehicle near N 40th and E Oak street Wednesday.

The driver hit the patrol vehicle around 12:30 a.m.

Rescue crews extricated the officer from the patrol vehicle and transported them to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the collision, the occupants of the car that hit the officer fled the area on foot. Authorities found and apprehended them.

The Phoenix Police Department is investigating the cause of the wreck.
