CHANDLER, AZ – A man was killed in a hit-and-run collision that happened on Loop 202 near McClintock Drive Saturday, Fox10Phoenix said.
Arizona Department of Public Safety’s preliminary details revealed that the driver of a white SUV lost control of their vehicle. The driver veered out of their lane and crashed into a concrete median wall. The force of the collision caused one backseat SUV passenger to be thrown from the vehicle and die from his injuries at the scene. Troopers said the SUV also sideswiped another vehicle, which caused debris from this wreck to then crash into a third vehicle.
Troopers said the SUV driver fled the scene on foot and later confirmed that there was another SUV passenger who survived. That passenger is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.
Troopers are actively working to determine why the SUV hit-and-run suspect lost control of their vehicle and are in the process of finding them.
The public is urged to contact local authorities immediately if they can provide more information on the deadly hit-and-run collision or on the suspect.
