PHOENIX, AZ – According to AZFamily, a man died in a wrong-way collision near N 12th St and E Butler Dr on Wednesday.
Tom Matias, 34, was heading north on 12th St when he entered oncoming traffic and collided with another vehicle around 4:45 a.m.
Rescue crews transported Matias and the other driver to the hospital, where Matias died. The other driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities are investigating what caused Matias to drive the wrong way.
