PHOENIX, AZ – A 60-year-old man was killed in a two-truck crash that happened along Grand Canyon University on Saturday.
Phoenix police, fire crews, and paramedics responded to the intersection of 35th Avenue and Camelback Road after 7 p.m., according to KTAR. Upon arrival, firefighters and medics extricated the 60-year-old man who was pinned or entrapped inside his car.
Once the extrication was completed, officials transported the 60-year-old man to a hospital where he later died.
The other driver, a 28-year-old man, stayed at the scene and did not appear to have been impaired. Based on what officers know so far, it appears that the 28-year-old man crashed into the 60-year-old man’s car as he entered onto Camelback Road.
Police said the 60-year-old man did stop at a red light prior to entering the intersection.
The victim’s name and the contributing factors behind the deadly collision have not been announced.
