News: Juvenile, woman in critical condition after west Phoenix crash involving multiple vehicles

PHOENIX, AZ – A child and a woman were hospitalized for life-threatening injuries last Friday, August 23, due to a multi-vehicle crash in west Phoenix, reports 12 News.

The accident took place in the area of 39th Avenue and McDowell Road, prompting a response from local police shortly after 2:00 p.m.

Investigators were working to determine the circumstances of the event, but officers arrived on site to find both the child and woman ejected from one of the three involved vehicles. Both victims were rushed to an area hospital for critical injuries.

While a third person was also reported hurt, the Phoenix Fire Department said the patient was listed in stable condition.

Officials had the area shut down during the emergency response and investigation.

It was not immediately apparent whether anyone is expected to be charged or cited.
