News: 1 left seriously injured after motorcycle vs. car crash in Tempe

MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ – One person was rushed to a hospital with major injuries following a crash early Saturday involving a motorcycle in east Tempe, according to AZ Family.

The accident occurred on the southbound lanes of State Highway 101 near University Drive. Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers were dispatched to the area at about 1:50 a.m.

Officials have not confirmed whether the person seriously injured was the motorcyclist, but the victim was listed in serious condition at a local hospital.

Southbound lanes were shut down for several hours before reopening at around 7:00 a.m.

An investigation into the circumstances of the crash remains underway.
