News: Impairment possible factor in car-pedestrian collision, Phoenix PD says 

PHOENIX, AZ – Impairment was a possible factor in a car-pedestrian collision that seriously injured a woman on Sunday, Phoenix Police said.

According to ABC15, the crash occurred around 7:15 p.m. in the area of 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road. A male driver struck the woman with his car and attempted to flee the scene.

The driver didn’t get very far and was detained by police.

Police said the driver is being processed for DUI.

Charges have been filed.

Police have started an investigation.
