PHOENIX, AZ – A 55-year-old man driving a motorized scooter died after colliding head first with a vehicle at a busy intersection in north Phoenix, reports Arizona’s Family 3TV.
The incident happened just before midnight near the intersection of North 2nd Street and East Glendale Avenue, which is between North Central Avenue and North 7th Street.
Police say a westbound scooter veered into the eastbound lanes and struck an eastbound car.
The driver of the scooter died after transport to a local hospital. Authorities identified him as Thomas Michale Lee.
It is unclear if the driver of the car sustained injuries. A full investigation is underway.
