PHOENIX, AZ – According to AZFamily, a driver struck and killed a man in a wheelchair near E Southern Ave and S Central Ave on Saturday.
A 61-year-old man was driving a Jeep when he hit a 77-year-old around 6:20 p.m.
First responders transported the victim to an area hospital, where he died.
Following the collision, the driver remained at the scene.
Authorities do not believe impairment played a role in the crash.
