News: Gas tanker crash in west Phoenix injures 1

PHOENIX, AZ – Medics transported the driver of a passenger vehicle to the hospital after it collided with a gasoline tanker in Phoenix on Saturday, reports 12 News.

The incident happened around 10 a.m. in the area of 51st Avenue and West Lower Buckeye Road, which is just east of the Ed Pastor Freeway.

It’s still unclear what caused the accident, but officials say the collision caused the semi-truck to spill a large amount of fuel in the roadway.

The driver of the passenger vehicle sustained critical injuries.

The truck driver did not require hospitalization.

A full investigation of the incident is underway.
