NORTH PHOENIX, AZ – A female motorcyclist was killed in a T-bone collision in North Phoenix on Sunday, 12News reports.
The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the area of 27th Avenue and Yorkshire Drive. Phoenix Police determined that the driver first stopped at the intersection. A green light went on for main traffic, but stayed red at a left-turning lane. The driver mistakenly made a left turn, thinking the arrow was green, and collided with an oncoming motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, later identified as 25-year-old Kendra L. Harrison, was left in critical condition. EMS crews transported her to a hospital, where she later died.
Police did not confirm whether they conducted a field sobriety test for the driver, but said they showed no signs of impairment.
The driver will only face charges depending on the results of the investigation.
