News: Fatal multiple-vehicle crash closes SB I-17 in North Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – One person was killed and several others seriously injured in a crash on SB I-17 near Union Hills Dr. on Thursday night.

According to 12NEWS, the crash involved multiple vehicles and the injured included two women, a man, a male child, and a female child. The identity of the deceased has not been released. Arizona DOT tweeted the fatal crash occurred around 8:46 p.m.

All lanes of SB I-17 are closed in the area and motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes.

It is unclear how many vehicles were involved in the crash.

The cause of the accident is unknown.
