News: Driver hospitalized after hitting tree in Glendale

GLENDALE, AZ – A driver went to the hospital in Glendale this week after swerving to avoid a pedestrian and colliding with a palm tree, reports Fox 10 Phoenix.

Police say the incident happened on Thursday near the intersection of 59th Avenue and Missouri Avenue. The driver was travelling northbound when they veered off of the roadway to avoid a person walking.

Medics transported the driver to the hospital for treatment. They are expected to survive the crash.

A full investigation is underway, but authorities do not suspect impairment at this time.
