PHOENIX, AZ – A driver struck and killed a woman near N 51st Ave and W Glenrosa Ave on Sunday, according to AZFamily.
A person was driving an SUV when they hit Rafaela Montes-Garcia, 44, as she was walking across 51st Ave outside of a marked crosswalk around 1 a.m.
First responders pronounced Montes-Garcia dead at the scene.
Following the collision, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Crews shut down the intersection to process the scene. It was reopened around 6:30 a.m.
