PHOENIX, AZ – A 49-year-old man died Sunday night after a vehicle struck him in the crosswalk of a busy Phoenix intersection, reports Arizona’s Family 3TV.
The incident happened around 7:20 p.m. near the intersection of North 46th Avenue and West Thomas Road, which is just west of Arrowhead Plaza.
Medics took the pedestrian to a local hospital, where he died from injuries sustained in the accident. Authorities identified him as Sendegeya Kabundi.
Police say that the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment.
A full investigation is underway.
