PHOENIX, AZ – A 32-year-old man died Tuesday morning after his bicycle was struck by a vehicle along a busy roadway in west Phoenix, reports 12 News.
Police say the incident happened around 5 a.m. near the intersection of 59th Avenue and Buckeye Road, which is just east of the Ed Pastor Freeway.
The preliminary investigation suggests that an eastbound vehicle struck the cyclist from behind as he travelled east on the south side of Buckeye Road.
Authorities identified the victim as Troy Rosales.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police. It is unclear if she sustained injuries in the crash, but police say they do not suspect impairment.
